Changing Our Narrative

As we’re sliding into the holiday season and the New Year, we should all reflect on the things we’re most thankful for: family, friends, our spouses, a steady job/career and a host of materialistic things that make us “happy.” It’s the time of the year where life is a bit more cheerful, you’re actually happy to see your family, spending all your money to show your appreciation to your significant others, eating all the delicious foods that we’ll regret soon after and to only declare we can eat that way because at the beginning of the year we’ll be on our annual diets. At least that’s the plan.

Sometimes we get caught in the hustle and bustle of the season and we don’t get the chance to soak it in and enjoy it, so this year I implore everyone to not only be thankful for all those things but to also be thankful for yourself, you did it! Whatever “it” is, you made it happen, celebrate yourself, for all the lil and big things you’ve accomplished this year, for breaking through the chaos that this year brought, for making the right decisions and for correcting the wrong you might’ve done, for reaching the goals you created or even for creating a goal that you’ve yet to get underway. Just be thankful, don’t forget you need you too. Happy Holidays!
