Something for Sunday:
On the afternoon of Saturday April 29, 2017 in Los Angeles, Ca., the ladies of Centennial High School, graduating class of 1967 held their annual Spring Reunion Luncheon.
The theme for the afternoon, Centennial High School Class of 1967: After 50 Years We’re Still Fabulous was an accurate description. The ladies from the class of “67” were dressed in bright and exuberant colors. Big hats and lots of smiles and laughter abound.
The outdoor luncheon was hosted by the class of “67” alumni, Tanya Lewis and Donna Jones. The home and park-like grounds of Ms. Jones, Los Angeles residence, provided the perfect setting for the memorable and festive afternoon.
Luncheon attendees embraced one another as they strolled down memory lane. Some shared pictures of children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren via the latest cell phone and social media app. Technology was all around.
The Southern California weather was perfect for the outdoor luncheon. Just a little windy at times. lol ….
After lunch the ladies gathered on the great lawn and remembered those class of “67” alumni who have left wonderful and cherished memories. Some ladies called out the names of former classmates while others called the names of lost loved ones ranging from parents, children and friends.
After a few words of encouragement from co-host Tanya Lewis, red and white balloons, the official colors of Centennial High School, were released into the sky in honor of those no longer with them.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” Corinthians 5:8 KJV
Hugs, laughter and smiles were the toast of the afternoon as class of “67” alumni enjoyed melt in your mouth ribs and chicken as the main dish, preceded by turkey sliders and wine coolers and a special punch.
