When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming. Matthew 26:5-8 Message
We are confronted in the title of this piece with two words both beginning with “A”. Situations called atrocities suggest a failure on the part of some to listen to or accept the fact that God is in charge of His world and speaking. Amen speaks of our calm assurance that regardless of how atrocious things appear, God is working His purpose out.
To help us get from Atrocity to Amen, let us look at another passage from God’s Word.
1. We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts.
2. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.
3. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:1-4
