Champagne glasses raised high matched the elevated and rarefied air that provided the perfect Southern California breeze as graduating seniors from Junipero Serra High School entered the evening glamorous and in style headed to the prom of 2021.

Embraced by family, friends, loved ones and neighbors, a special group of young ladies and men celebrated one another as they prepared themselves for the memorable evening that lay ahead.

Although the promenade or prom dates back to 1928, no one could have imagined planning a prom in the midst of a global pandemic. Fast forward to 2021 and that’s just what happened, Camryn Burns, Evanjelina Giselle Castellon-Davis, Joshua White, Jordan Hanzy, Isabella Reeves, Anna Nguyen, Nhanha Bui and Jordan Briggs planned their special evening with remarkable elegance and grace.

“We want to toast the graduates – they worked really hard especially through the pandemic. They are really great kids,” expressed Dee Dee Butler.

After being introduced, each prom participant shined as they glided to the red carpet greeted with cheers and applause from adorning guests.

“Congratulations to all of the graduates. We are so proud of you guys and we know from here you’re only going to go up, up and up. We love you,” exclaimed Sue Carruthers.

Love was in the air as the invited guest and well wishers sat under an outdoor tent, sipping on cool and colorful beverages enjoying each and every moment of the festivities.

“To all of the seniors we wish you the best. Throughout this pandemic you’ve been nothing but successful. You have proven “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. We look forward to you enjoying your years in college. May God continue to bless your friendships forever,” stated Zandra Carruthers.

Before the evening’s honored guest boarded the luxurious and glammed out party bus, Cazzie Burns shared a heartfelt thought. “I’d like to thank the crew for their tight bond and staying this way throughout the four years. I appreciate all of the parents and all you continue to do. Let’s keep them safe. Many blessings and success in the future.”
