In a recent conversation with Reel Urban News, the dynamic trio behind Prime Video’s courtroom show Tribunal Justice, Judge Patricia DiMango, Judge Tanya Acker, and Judge Adam Levy offered insights into their unconventional courtroom setting, where real litigants and real cases unfold.

The atmosphere in the Tribunal Justice courtroom is anything but dull. With real-life legal experiences spanning over 25 years, Judge Levy isn’t afraid to confront litigants who may be less than honest. “Especially when the litigants aren’t being truthful, I don’t mind putting up my dukes at all,” he stated, emphasizing the show’s raw and authentic nature.

Judge Acker chimed in humorously, “Adam has a soft spot for liars,” highlighting the dynamic camaraderie among the judges as they navigate the unpredictable nature of courtroom disputes.

Created by judicial icon Judge Judy Sheindlin, Tribunal Justice sets itself apart in the crowded courtroom genre through its engaging format and the presence of two bailiffs, ensuring order amidst the chaos. The addition of bailiffs Cassandra Britt and Petri Hawkins Byrd brings a unique flavor to the proceedings.

Judge Acker expressed her appreciation for both, noting, “Cassandra is wonderful and Byrd, who people are really familiar with, is great and a lot of fun to work with while giving his commentary in my ear as the case moves forward.”

One compelling case discussed involved a significant age gap between an older gentleman and a much younger woman, raising questions about the ethics of online dating among seniors. Judge DiMango shared her perspective, stating, “I don’t think you can control people’s feelings or emotions towards one another. This is just the nature of some relationships where sometimes the younger person takes advantage of the older person’s love.”

The judges’ playful banter, including Judge DiMango’s lighthearted remark referencing a classic relationship saying: “They used to say, ‘it’s better to be an older man’s darling than a young mans whatever,’ caused both Judges Acker and Levy to showcases their ability to tackle serious topics with both wisdom and humor.

Tribunal Justise, Prime Video’s courtroom steamer featuring Presiding Judge, Patricia Dimango, Judge Tanya Acker and Judge Adam Leve appear with Michael Reel of Reel Urban News following an on-set exclusive interview.

As the conversation wound down, Judge Acker left the audience with a poignant reminder about the importance of being cautious in situations similar to those depicted on the show. “That’s why people like our show, because these are real cases and you just have to watch yourself,” she concluded.
