It’s been a long time coming, but The Queens of Sideline Reporting have finally arrived. Who are The Queens of Sideline Reporting you may ask? None other than Fox Sports, Pam Oliver and Lisa Salters, with ESPN. These two queens have remained high-profile in the competitive multi media world of sports reporting and journalism. Oliver and Salters are equally beautiful, intelligent top notch sports reporters providing instant game analysis while displaying superb sports acumen.
Pam Oliver is the sideline reporter covering NFL games for the Fox Sports Network. Oliver joined Fox Sports in 1995, where she continues to provide up to date player injury reports from the sideline. Oliver also provides insight in to the conversations being shared on the sideline between both players and coaches during the actual game, thus giving viewers and sports fan, a real feel for the action.
During a preseason game on August 18th 2013, Pam was struck in the head by a football, thrown by The Indianapolis Colts back up quarterback. she suffered a concussion. Oliver did recover but it gave her a new perspective on what the athletes go through when they suffer a concussion during a game.
Lisa Salters is a sports reporter for ESPN and ESPN on ABC. Lisa works as a sideline reporter for Monday Night Football and can be found courtside during the NBA season. Lisa is also regularly featured on ESPN’S “Outside the Lines. It’s not unusual, to see Salters on television, doing some type of sports reporting, 2 or 3 times in any given week.
What I like about Lisa Salters is her calmness while reporting. She has a sense of ownership when she’s live from the sideline, during Monday Night Football and when she’s courtside covering an NBA game.
Both Pam Oliver and Lisa Salters embody what sports journalism is today. It’s beautiful, intelligent and instant.
There you have it, The Queens of Sideline Reporting at their BEST.
