For Your Consideration

The hypnotic attraction that comes in deep when you allow yourselves to gravitate to the soul of a woman.  I am not just talking about any woman.  This is the woman who has worked from 9 to 5 and comes home to work another five hours preparing dinner, doing homework, washing a load of clothes, preparing everything for the next day, and if she’s married, she has to gather up enough strength just to be that wife in the bedroom.  Let’s keep it real. Because the soul of this woman has accepted her role in the household, she manages to get it all done, retires to bed exhausted just to get up and do it all over again.

This divine creature that God so elegantly designed to be man’s help mate has been taken for granted because her soul has been overlooked and neglected for so long that she is now ready to put it on display for many of those who really just don’t get it.  Johnny Gills’ lyrics in the song the Soul of a Woman says, “Ain’t nothing like the soul of a woman to make you keep on goin’ when you feel like givin’ up”.  We as women will pour out of our empty cups never to be filled just so our children will ace that test or be on that team, or for our spouses to simply feel like a man when the world has beat him to an absolute pulp.  The soul of a woman gives any household life to make it feel like a home.  She will slave over a meal just so family and friends’ pallets will be delighted and bellies will be filled.

It’s Women History month and the focus has been on those women who have made the tabloids and news with their various accomplishments, but what about those souls who will never be seen or known to the public, but yet she pours out her soul to fulfill her dreams and accomplishments.  She too wants to be a home owner, she too wants to travel internationally, she too wants to know and see what it feels like to have her every need met and her cup refilled by the many she continuously pours into with all of her soul.

As we reflect within these last few days and hours of women history month, think about all those women who have made a difference in your life.  Wouldn’t it be great if you took the time to acknowledge the greatness of their soul, valued it, and truly appreciated it?  Most of us think of the soul as emotional energy and you’re absolutely right because women are emotional creatures who were designed to be handled with care.  But because the soul has been neglected, she continues to have to take her place as an alpha female becoming assertive and independent.  God never intended for women not to be loved, protected, secured, and valued.  The soul of woman theirs is nothing like it.

In the bible, there are some many women mentioned by name and others not by name, but these women helped shaped history and rather their role was big or small, God had a purpose for each of them just as He continues to have a purpose for women today.  Let us not just forget the women in our homes, next door, on the job, or even at the church.  Be intentional about embedded yourselves to look beyond the physical appearance and become familiar with their soul.  The soul of a woman; there’s nothing like it once you take time to embrace it.
