Grammy Award winning song writer and performer Quincy Fielding, Jr. who is best known for his work with the late Reverend James Cleveland and his awarding winning song “What Shall I Do” recently shared with ReelUrbanNews.com his passion for writing a great song. “The Hymns of the church basically helped mold me into an excellent song writer. I tell writers to take the time to learn the Hymns of the church because each verse tells a story the compliments the course of the song.” Quincy Fielding, Jr. Grammy Award Winner
“Reverend James Cleveland did the first part of the song this way. It was on the last record he did with the Southern California Community Choir at the Corner Stone Baptist Church. It was at the very end, just before the benediction and Cleveland had us sing “What Shall I Do.” That was the time that I received the Grammy Award.” Quincy Fielding, Jr. Grammy Award Winner
Rev. Quincy Filding, Jr. is a blessed and talented man. I met Quincy when he was 10 playing drums at the Mecham Park Church of God. Later years we ere part of the St. Louis/East St. Louis GMWA Chapter. He is an awesome songwriter with the inspiration from God.
I remember his father directing, and yes sometimes he would yell at us.
Hopefully will see him at GMWA Conention in Nashville.
Great interview.
